I got a little talking to from my father the other day who was very sad that I had not been updating my blog more. By talking to I mean: "So you haven't been updating the blog much lately..." I am as sorry now as I was those few days ago, Dad, but here I am, trying to redeem myself. After hearing my explanation, I hope you will all forgive me as well.
For about 6 weeks now I haven't been feeling very good... :)
A smiley face after a statement about constant nausea can only mean one thing, my friends...
(I sat here trying to think of another reason why constant nausea would lead to a smiley face just so I could do a sneaky joke maneuver right here, but I really couldn't think of one).
That's right, we are having another baby!
We wanted to wait until the 12 week sonogram to make sure everything was going ok before telling everyone. So here we are, post sonogram, telling everyone. Quinn and I are both really excited. It's different to have a pregnancy that we were actually hoping for rather than being startled into parenthood submission by God (which worked out very well, in hindsight).
Anyway, I am up to my ears in chores and hoping to get a lot done today, now that I'm starting to feel better and my very lovely first born has just woken up from his nap. And by lovely I mean: he has learned to say please in sign language and it's adorable. Watch this:
But he is a little hard to handle sometimes. He's always been pretty active and now I think the only time he sits still in one place is when he is sleeping. When I saw the new baby (who we are calling "Habibi" - "baby" in Arabic) in the sonogram, he/she was totally still for the first 10 minutes or so. I guess they were sleeping. When they finally woke up, they did a few cute little movements, but seemed relatively calm. Here. See for yourself:
That cute little movement compared to Abram's 12 week sonogram that looked like 20 minutes of this:
Makes me hope that it's an indication that I will have a calm (maybe even snuggly!!) second child. We shall see!
