We made it to and from Paris, Texas in one piece. It was so good to see my grandparents who are in their 80s and my uncle, who we haven't seen in awhile.
We got to spend some good time just talking to them and the kids got to know their sweet great grandparents a little more. Abram even climbed up in my grandma's lap, laid his head on her, and snuggled for a few minutes! He never does stuff like that. So, all in all, it was a good trip.

(Don't be fooled. This was one second of an approximately 10 minute nap and the only one he took yesterday.)
We did a lot of singing in the car - even though we only brought three CDs with us. Abram does this thing when he hears music (worship music, especially) where he moves his hands like he's holding drumsticks and drumming. We did not teach him that. I guess he's just seen people drumming. Maybe that means he's going to be a drummer? He also loves to lift his hands and "praise the Lord". Usually we prompt him to do this, but recently he's been doing it all on his own. Like, we visited my grandma's church on Sunday and it was a much more traditionally laid out church than our church that meets in big open rooms with folding chairs. So Abram was standing at the foot of the carpeted stairs that lead up to the pulpit, right in the aisle between the pews and the music started and he just lifted both his hands and started dancing. It was a Pentecostal church and so, of course, they all thought it was incredibly adorable. He did for a few minutes (he was watching the drummer) without even looking around. It was pretty adorable.
Now we are doing last minute preparations for our flight to Colorado this afternoon. We will be flying standby on Southwest (our friend works for them and generously gave us some buddy passes, since our travel days and times are flexible). I've flown standby on Frontier before since my uncle is a pilot. Once Abram and I didn't get on the flight we were trying for and had quite a few hours until the next flight left (which we made). So we are really hoping to get on one of the flights tonight since we have two babies and so much stuff. Traveling for two months means a lot of stuff. I think we should be able to get on one of the two flights tonight. If not, we may be stranded at the airport for awhile until we can find a ride home and then back tomorrow. We are really praying today works out!
Here's hoping that the next time you hear from me, it will be from the great state of Colorado!
