... of crafting blog overload!!

As if I weren't following enough blogs already, Pinterest has made it so much easier to find awesome crafting blogs. And you know as well as I do that once you get on one blog, you will start rabbit trailing to 50 others that have just as amazing of ideas as the first! So you add them to your google reader and, before you know it, when you sit down to "just check your email", it turns into a 2 hour "which project should I choose to do next" time sucking dilemma! I should only check Pinterest and google reader every few days for that reason. Oh! And if you decide that you would like and invite to Pinterest, let me know and I'll send one your way. I just need your email address.

This morning, Abram has blessed me with an hour and a half of nap time so far. I should have taken a shower... and I was about to do so when I thought I would "just browse Pinterest for a second". Yeah... Then I found two more awesome blogs with amazing ideas and I remembered my friend Kelli asking for me to share some of the blogs that I like with her. So I thought, if I'm going to share with Kelli, why don't I just share with everyone!? Not everyone will care, but whatever.

Here are some of my favorites and a glimpse of some of the neat things they share:

Joy Ever After: Fun graphics and crafting tutorials like this ruffled shower curtain


C is for Coffee: My friend, Morgan's, blog. Some crafting and cute kid posts, but I love it because she shares awesome baking ideas and experiences. Here she shares why she bakes.

Modern Parents Messy Kids: Great ideas for activities with kids. I can't wait until Abram gets older and I can use her idea for a creativity center.
No Big Dill: Her most recent post is about a sewing soiree she is hosting. Such a good idea! I may try and make something similar happen soon!

Sew Mama Sew: A lot of these craft and sewing bloggers contribute tutorials to this blog. Now that summer is here and I am hoping to take Abram "swimming" as he gets older, I thought these aquatic diapers would be an awesome little project.

Prudent Baby: This site has so many ideas it's almost overwhelming. But I love the "naptime projects" section that has only projects that (supposedly) take under and hour. I found this baby knot hat that I think I'll try for Abram since it doesn't have to be as thick and warm as a yarn hat.


How About Orange: I just found this site and haven't explored too thoroughly, but I've already found some cool ideas, like this ribbon storage.

So there are some favorites. I'm sure I will find more as I browse Pinterest and keep checking these blogs. Hope you get some fun ideas from them, too! Someday, maybe I will have enough time and be creative enough that people will recommend my blog! But I'm happy being an amateur for the moment. Happy blogging!

If you've been tracking with us for awhile now, you may remember that when we were pregnant with Selah, we had a boy name chosen .  This time, we had a few boy options, but the old standby won out, because we really do like it a lot.  But just like two years ago, we still can't quite agree on a middle name for this kid. ...of three

So we are having another baby.  Whew.  There, I said it.  No creative lead up and stunning reveal.  Just there .  Baby.  Bam. That's a little what it felt like to find out that a third child would be joining our ranks a bit short of 3.5 years after our first child was born.  We were content with our two.  A boy and a girl.  Who could ask for anything more, right?  Also, Quinn and I each have just one sister, so it seemed natural for us to stop at two. So that's what we were working to do.  I won't go into the details of it all with you in this forum, but we really were attempting to avoid pregnancy. So this wasn't a "woops" moment.  This was a "many things happening coincidentally" moment.  And so when we confirmed that we were, indeed, expecting another baby, there was a bit of shock (of course), but also peace and assurance in knowing that God definitely showed us His hand in it. ... of a patent

... or maybe, just maybe , I'm jumping the gun :) A good friend told me the other day that she and her husband have been leaving church after the worship because she can't sit for an extended time in the folding chairs. Our church did a great thing and bought inexpensive folding chairs for our sanctuary in order to 1)save money and 2)be able to use the empty room for community type events in the neighborhood during the week. This is awesome. I support their decision and so does my friend who is leaving after the worship (and watching the previous week's sermon from home). But she is pregnant. She already had back problems and now (of course!) they are worse. My back is just starting to bother me and I know that there are many pregnant women with back problems and normal people with back problems who whimper inside a little every time they enter a room and see folding chairs.
